Peer review is a fundamental part of the scientific publication process. It is both a privilege and a responsibility that requires time, expertise, and careful judgment.
All submitted manuscripts are expected to be critically evaluated based on the following key criteria: novelty, scientific importance within the field, and the strength and validity of the evidence supporting the conclusions.
Every submission to the Journal is first assessed by the Assistant Editor to determine its relevance and compliance with the Journal’s editorial scope. Manuscripts that meet these initial requirements are forwarded to two or three independent referees selected by the Editorial Office and approved by the Editorial Board.
Based on the referees’ recommendations, the Editor will make one of the following decisions:
- Accept the manuscript in its current form
- Accept the manuscript with minor revisions
- Invite the authors to revise and resubmit for further consideration
- Reject the manuscript due to insufficient novelty, methodological concerns, or significant scientific shortcomings
All editorial decisions are subject to confirmation by the Editorial Board.
Referees may also provide confidential comments to the Editor, including recommendations regarding the manuscript’s suitability for publication. However, it is important to note that editorial decisions may be based on multiple, sometimes conflicting, reviews. Therefore, final decisions rely on a balanced assessment of all referee reports as well as the authors’ responses.
High-quality referee reports are those that provide clear, constructive, and well-supported arguments. Where appropriate, reviewers are encouraged to offer specific suggestions aimed at improving the manuscript.
The Journal expresses its sincere appreciation to all referees for their valuable contribution to the peer-review process and for their efforts in improving the quality of published research. The pool of referees is continuously expanded with experts from relevant disciplines, particularly those who actively contribute to the advancement of the Journal.
